Harry le Fise Lake

Harry le Fyse Lake

A Knight of the Round Table in Malory’s Le Morte Darthur,

[a] good knight and an hardy.

His biggest moment in Malory comes during a scuffle with Breuse Sans Pitie in Book I, chapter 53. He appears as one of the knights who sided with Lancelot after Mordred surprised the good knight with Guenevere, and helped Lancelot rescue the queen from the stake.

“Le Fise Lake” suggests a close relationship with Lancelot du Lake; Harry has been identified, however, with Chrétien’s title hero Erec, the son of King Lac (Erec le fils Lac).
