Idumeans

Edomites, Idumean

An alternative name for the Edomites, an ancient people inhabiting a region south of the Dead Sea. Traditionally descended from the biblical Esau, they appear in the Arthurian legends of later writers, who said that the Queen of the Amazons was rescued from their King by Tristan the Younger.

They were also said to have done battle with Gawain, their own Queen being killed by the Crop-Eared Dog.
