Craddoc

Craddok

One of Arthur’s warriors in Arthour and Merlin; he participated in the battles against the Saxons at Carhaix.

His name resulted from a corruption of Gornain Cadrus (Gorvain Cadrut) in the Vulgate Merlin, which the author of Arthour split in to two characters, although it may have been influenced by Caradoc.

The Alliterative Morte Arthure includes Craddoc as the knight who, at the conclusion of the Roman War, brought news of Mordred’s treachery to Arthur.
