Daire

A fairy king. In an Irish tale, his daughter, the Grey-Hammed Lady, married Arthur.

He becomes Daere in Welsh legend.

Daire

A son of Fionn mac Cumhaill.

He was swallowed by a monster but hacked his way out from inside the creature, thus setting free other inhabitants of the monster’s stomach.

It is quite possible that this Daire is the same as the Pictish King shown in the genealogies as being the father of the Otherworld woman Ailleann.
