Lalut

Laluth

Located about seven leagues or less from Cardigan.

This county, ruled by a count, kept the custom of annually awarding a fine sparrowhawk to the loveliest lady present or, in other words, the lady lucky enough to have a knight able to defeat any and all challengers. If a knight could win it for his lady three years in a row, he would win it for good.

Erec came to this fortress or town during his pursuit of Yder. Here, he stayed with the noble Licorant and met his future wife Enide, and defeated Yder in the sparrowhawk tournament.

Hartmann von Aue places these events at Tulmein, while the Norse Erex Saga changes the name to Roson.
