Adaro

Sea spirits in the mythology of the Solomon Islands.

A very dangerous ghost, described as mermen - a man with gills behind his ears, a horn like a dorsal fin of a shark, a swordfish spear growing out of his head, and tail fins for feet. They may travel along rainbows and in watersprouts. They kill unwary fishermen by firing poisonous flying fish at them.

A person's spirit is divided between the good (Aunga) and the bad or evil (Adaro) which stays as a ghost.
