Adlet

Erqigdlet, Erqigdlit

In the Inuit mythology of Greenland, the Labrador and Hudson Bay coasts, this word refers to a race of creatures with the lower part of the body is like that of a dog, and their upper part is like a man's. Some sources state they have a wolf's head with a long snout, pointed ears, yellow piercing eyes and a long tail. They run quickly, are tall and some stories describes them as cannibals.

They are said to be born from an Inuit woman who had an unnatural relationship with a ferocious, giant, red dog, and she gave birth to a litter of ten canine-hominid babies.
