Adze

The Ewe people lives in Togo and Ghana, Africa, with the constant fear of the vampire creature Adze.

The Adze, can transform itself from a firefly to a human shape, with the ability to possess humans. The influence of the Adze gives a negative effect to the people around the host.

In the form a firefly they are small enough to get into people's houses and suck their blood at night. The victims would fall sick and eventually die.

Those possessed by an Adze affects the people around them negatively: If someone old have younger relatives dying, the old person is considered to be abasom (witches). If someone poor envied the rich, they are considered to be abasom, and so on.
