Ascalun

Ascalon

A land ruled by Kingrisin and then his son Vergulaht in Wolfram’s Parzival. Its capital was Schanpfanzun.

Gawaine was summoned to the country by Kingrimursel, the landgrave, to answer a murder charge, and became involved in a scuffle with Vergulaht in a misunderstanding involving Kingrisin’s sister.

In Chrétien’s Perceval, the land is called Escavalon.
