Ferolin of Salonica was one of the noble companions who accompanied Alexander of Greece from Constantinople to the court of King Arthur in Cligés.

A Companion of Alexander#
Ferolin belonged to Alexander’s company of Greek noblemen, who travelled from Constantinople to Britain in search of honour and adventure. Arthur welcomed the companions into his service by conferring knighthood upon them at the outset of Count Angrs’ rebellion.
The Capture of Windsor#
During the final stages of the campaign, Ferolin appears to have been among the companions who accompanied Alexander into Windsor to bring Count Angrs’ rebellion to an end.
Unlike several of Alexander’s followers, Ferolin survived the fighting and shared in Arthur’s victory.
In the Arthurian Tradition#
Although Ferolin’s role in Cligés is brief, he represents one of the loyal companions who remained at Alexander’s side throughout the expedition to Britain. His story reflects the fellowship and military service that unite Alexander’s Greek companions in Chrétien de Troyes’ romance.
