A Companion of Alexander#

Pinabel belonged to Alexander’s company of Greek noblemen, who travelled from Constantinople to Britain. When Count Angrs rebelled against Arthur, the companions were knighted and welcomed into the king’s service.

The Assault on Windsor#

During the final stages of the rebellion, Pinabel was among the select companions who accompanied Alexander into Windsor to capture Count Angrs and bring the conflict to an end.

Unlike some of his fellow companions, Pinabel survived the fighting and shared in the victory over the rebels.

In the Arthurian Tradition#

Chrétien records no further exploits for Pinabel after the rebellion. Even so, his participation in the capture of Windsor places him among the trusted companions who remained at Alexander’s side during the most dangerous moments of the campaign.
