Aedd the Great

Oedd

The father of Prydein from whom Britain took its name in Welsh tradition, adopted from Irish mythology. A Welsh Triad holds that Aedd's son, Prydein, conquered and named Britain.

In Culhwch and Olwen, two of Arthur's warriors - Gwitart and Odgar - are noted as Aedd's sons, and Aedd himself is called the King of Ireland.
