Cam

'Crooked'

A river in Somerset, near Cadbury Castle.

In a nearby field called Westwoods, a large number of skeletons bear grim testimony to a battle fought on that site, and it has been suggested that this was the site of Camlann, Arthur's final battle. Others identifies this as the River Cam upon which Cambridge is situated, and that has subsequently led to the identification of that city with Camlann.

This is a name borne by a number of rivers in Britain.
