Doors of Ivory and Ebony

Passing the Man with the Silver Leg, the Ferryman of Canguin led Gawaine into Queen Igraine's castle through a pair of doors, one of ivory and the other of ebony.

Both were finely carved and sculpted, trimmed with gold and precious magic stones, and hung with gold hinges. The bold, likewise, was gold. The paving beneath these doors was multicolored in black, white, reds, blues, and violets, brightly polished. Apparantly, these doors opened directly into the chamber of the Wondrous Bed.
