Lucifera

Queen of the House of Pride.

Her counselors were the seven deadly sins. The Red Cross Knight visited her palace while under the spell of the evil witch Duessa.

Spenser may have been inspired by Queen Elizabeth's royal power for Lucifera in his The Faerie Queene.

[. . .]

As faire Aurora in her purple pall,
Out of the East the dawning day doth call:
So forth she comes: her brightnesse brode doth blaze;
The heapes of people thronging in the hall,
Do ride each other, upon her to gaze:
Her glorious glitter and light doth all mens eyes amaze.
