'Birds of the Wine Lake', 'Birds of Dust and Wine'

Three giant birds given to Drudwas ap Tryffin by his fairy wife. They obeyed any order given to them by their master, be it good or bad.

He sent them to kill the first man who came to the field of combat - the place where he were to meet King Arthur whom he challenged to single combat. His sister, who was Arthur's mistress, delayed Arthur which resulted in Drudwas himself being the first on site. His griffins didn't recognize him, so they attacked and tore him to pieces.

In later medieval Welsh poetry, the name Adar Llwch Gwin was used to describe all kinds of raptors, hawks, falcons and even brave men.
