Lake Bourget

A lake in the French Alps near which Arthur was said to have killed a giant cat, a fact that is commemorated in local names such as Mont du Chat (Mountain of the Cat), Dent du Chat (Cat's Tooth) and Col du Chat (Cat's Neck).

It is possible that this animal was a Capalu, the continental name for the Cath palug.
