Brandes

Banderous, Branles

Count of Gloucester or Colchester of Linis.

Chrétien lists him among the counts and other lords, vassals of Arthur, summoned to court for Erec's wedding. Along with his retinue, Brandes brought 100 spare horses.

Tentatively, I resist identifying him with any of the several characters of similar name found in the Vulgate and Malory.
