Gaudin

    1. Gaudin

A region near Arthur's Caerleon court.

    2. Gaudin of the White Shield

A castellan who once gave lodging to Perceval.

    3. Gaudin the Brown of the Mountain
      Gaudins, Gauduins

One of Arthur’s knights, first mentioned by Chrétien de Troyes (in Erec). Renaut de Bâgé calls him the King of Ireland.

In Les Merveilles de Rigomer, he joins Gawain’s quest to conquer Rigomer castle. Along the road, he left the company and rescued a maiden (whom he eventually married) from four giants. Arriving at Rigomer alone, he was imprisoned until freed by Gawain. This is probably the same character who was captured by Gawain in the tourney between Evroic and Tenebroc a month after Erec's wedding.
