Succession of Arthur

In the book Men among Mankind by B. Le Poer Trench (1962), an argument is put forward that there was a series of Arthurs, hereditary priests of the Great Goddess, and that the last of these was identical with the Arthur of legend, accepting the identification of Arthur with Arviragus as proposed by J. Whitehead.
