Caverswall

Caverswall Castle was built in 1275 by Sir William de Caverswall, when he received a licence to 'crenellate' his Saxon manor house. Caverswall is mentioned in the Doomsday book.

A local legend speaks of Arthur whom held court at Cavershall and succoured a lady.
