The brother of King Hermance of the Red City, Hermind fought Sir Palomides for the right of avenging Hermance's death, but yielded to Palomides as the better warrior.

Hermind may have become king after his brother, though there is no evidence for this; Palomides apparently left Hermance's territory in the hands of the people.

Hermind did become a knight of the Round Table, being listed among those who tried to heal Sir Urre. He was one of the men killed during Lancelot's rescue of the Queen from the stake.
