Literature: William Shakespeare

Born in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, and living between 1564 and 1616, Shakespeare is perhaps the best-known playwriter ever to have lived.

He appears to have drawn on Arthurian literature and legend during the composition of A Midsummer Night's Dream, for here Oberon has much the same role as he does in other Arthurian literature.
