Nennius
Welsh writer (fl. 769) who was reputedly the author of the clumsily put together Latin work Historia Britonum, which purports to give a history of Britain from the time of Julius Caesar until towards the end of the seventh century.
The book gives mythical accounts of the origins of the Britons, the settlement of the Saxons and King Arthur's twelve victories.
