This castle had fallen into the power of a father and three sons who were all powerful swordsmen. Ywaine defeated them and restored Pintadol to its rightful lord, but my notes do not indicate who this rightful lord was.

Pintadol is probably in the same general part of the country as the Dolorous Tower. I would suggest Pentire Point, across the river's mouth from Padstow, Cornwall. Norden says of Pentyre Fort:
