Wygar

In Layamon, the name of Arthur's hauberk (armoured tunic).

The poet says that it was made either by a wizard or by an elvish smith called Witege. If the latter is the case, Witege may be identical with Widia, son of Wayland in Anglo-Saxon legend.

Arthur wore the hauberk in the battle against the Saxons at Bath.
