Ban

King of Gomeret or Gormeret.

Chrétien records him among Arthur's vassal kings, summoned to court for Erec's wedding. Ban's company of 200 was composed entirely of beardless youths, all very merry, and each one bringing some sort of hawk or falcon.

Tentatively, I would avoid identifying him with King Ban of Benwick.

Chrétien mentions King Ban of Gomeret a second time in his last romance, as the monarch who knighted the second of Percivale's two older brothers.
