In Wolfram’s Parzival, Arthur’s mother and wife of Uther Pendragon, most authors assign this role to Igerne (Igraine).

Abducted from her husband by the sorcerer Clinschor (Klingsor), she was imprisoned in the Castle of Marvels until rescued and released by Gawaine, many years after Uther’s death.
