Cil Coed

Kelcoed

Father of Arthur’s warrior Llwyd in Culhwch and Olwen.

He also appears in Manawydan where he imprisons Pryderi and Rhiannon, in an act of vengeance, before Manawydan compels him to free them.


Notes
– Cil is a Welsh word which implies a sequestered place, a place of retreat.
– Coed is the Welsh word for ‘wood’, ‘trees’.
