Cyngen fab Cadell

Reign: 808-855

A legendary King of Powys, who was said to have reigned some between the fifth and sixth centuries, although the Pillar of Eliseg puts his death in Rome, while on a pilgrimage, somewhat later in 855.

The Pillar of Eliseg is erected by Cyngen in honour of his great-grandfather Elisedd ap Gwylog.
