Gourmaillon

An alternative name that has been applied to both Cormoran and Gogmagog. This has led to a possible identification between these gigantic figures, making the giant disposed of by Corineus, Gogmagog, the same as the one disposed of by Jack the Giant-killer and commonly known through nursery rhyme as Cormilan or, more correctly, Cormoran.

Further, the application of this variant to both giants leads to the supposition that Jack the Giant-killer is a memory of the gigantic Trojan Corineus.
