In the Norse Erex Saga, a duke from Karinlisborg who, along with his wife Favida, was attacked by two giants in a forest. While his wife escaped, Kalviel was beaten and tied. Favida managed to find Erec, who slew the giants and rescued Kalviel.
He appears in Chrétien’s Erec as Cadoc of Tabriol.
