Roliax

Sir Meliagrant made his serf, Roliax, Lancelot’s jailer when he locked the great knight in a solitary tower surrounded by morass. Roliax had to bring food by boat, and Lancelot had to draw up the provisions in a basket.

Meliagrant’s stepsister, who hated him for causing her disinheritance by King Bagdemagus, was a benefactress of Roliax’s wife and thus was able to help Lancelot escape.
