Blanchemal the Fay

Blancemal

The fairy mistress of Gawain, by whom she had a son named Guinglain.

She raised Guinglain ignorant of his true name. Upon attaining knighthood, he was forced to adopt the label ‘The Fair Unknown’.

Blanchemal lived in the island of Gernemue.
