On the Modena Archivolt, the name of a lady apparently held in a tower by a lord named Mardoc and his knight, Caradoc. Arthur and his knights, including Yder and Gawain, are embroiled in an attempt to rescue her.
Her name is a variation of Guinloie or Guinevere, Arthur’s wife. “Guinloie” also belongs to Yder’s lover in the French romance of Yder.
