Etheria

The damsel bearing the Grail has pre-eminence in the mystic procession of the Grail Castle; but I think that the damsel immediately following her, who bears a silver platter or carving dish, should be remembered too.

For this platter bearer, Phyllis Ann Karr borrowed the name “Etheria” from a Galician noblewoman whose account of her own fourth century A.D. pilgrimage to Palestine is cited by Susan Haskins in Mary Magdalen, Myth and Metaphor.
