An evil knight in Meraugis de Portlesguez and the Livre d’Artus whose evil brother, Greomar, was killed by Sagremor (Sagramore). In response, the Formidable Knight besieged the Castle of Ladies, which Sagremor had taken from Greomar and given to Sir Laudon de Rognes. Gawaine defeated the Formidable Knight and lifted the siege.
The Formidable Knight then apparently resumed his custom of attacking ladies and murdering knights. Finally, the Formidable Knight defeated and removed an eye from Sir Laquis of Lampagrés.
Meraugis of Portlesguez, Laquis’s friend, tracked the Formidable Knight down and killed him.
