   Glennie calls this the stronghold of the Grim Baron (Gromer Somer Joure). It is in Cumberland, perhaps eight miles south of Carlisle, in an area called Inglewood Forest.

   The Grim Baron demanded that Arthur bring him the answer to the riddle "What is it that women most desire?" within a year and a day. Arthur got the answer from the Foul Lady (Ragnell), who demanded - and married - Gawaine as her reward.

   Although rather famous - Chaucer has a version of it, for instance - this story is found neither in Malory nor in the Vulgate.
