Waste Forest

A secluded wilderness that was Perceval’s homeland in Wolfram’s Parzival.

Herzeloyde (Herselojde), Perceval’s mother, raised him in this desolate area to keep him away from any knowledge of knighthood, as Perceval’s father had died in battle.

In French romances, it is called the Waste Forest.
