Amoret

A lady who is one of the representatives of chastity in Spenser’s The Faerie Queene.

Amoret and her sister, Belphoebe, were raised by goddesses; Amoret’s mistress was Venus. Engaged to Sir Scudamore, she was abducted by the magician BusiraneBritomart, a warrior maiden and friend of Arthur, saved her and became her loyal companion.

She was kidnapped again, by the Hairy Churl, and was rescued by her sister and Timias, Arthur’s squire. Arthur became her protector and delivered her to Scudamore, whom she finally married.
