Carsenfide

Karsinefite

Enide’s mother.

Chrétien does not tell us Dame Carsenefide’s name until almost the end of the romance, several hundred lines after Arthur, meeting her, remarks that it is easy to see how Enide came by her beauty.

Hartmann calls her Karsinefite.
