The burgrave of the city of Bearosche under Duke Lyppaut. His daughter was named Clauditte.
He enlisted the assistance of Gawain in a battle against King Meliant of Lis, who was attacking Lyppaut because Lyppaut’s daughter Obie had rejected him. Scherules himself fought bravely in the battle.
