Hel Tor

Heltor Rock

On top of this peak, near Moretonhampstead, Devon, is a circular stone, said to be a quoit thrown by the Devil in the course of a fight with King Arthur. The Devil lost and crept, sulking, back to Northlew, where he died of cold.

A stone in the village commemorates this event.
