Fountain of Changing Colors

This fountain was located near La Tour Quarée on the Salerne River. I have not been able to locate the Salerne. Once Josephe preached here. The water of the fountain frequently changed color. Josephe explained that the color changes were produced by the approach of sinful and unclean persons; I am unsure whether Josephe himself caused the fountain to take on this attribute, or whether it had already existed and Josephe only explained it.

Josephe caused an inscription to be left here on a stone:

The adventure of the fountain will be achieved by the great lion with the marvellous neckband.

The neckband signified obedience; the lion was probably Galahad. I do not know what the "adventure" was, unless this is another version of the Boiling Well (Forest of the Boiling Well).

A wounded knight who heard Josephe preach mistook his comparison of the Trinity to a healing fountain for a reference to the actual fountain at hand. He wanted to drink of it, but every messenger was afraid to bring him a cup of the waters that changed color. The knight appealed to Josephe, who gave him a short lesson in theology. The knight promised to believe in God if He would heal him. Josephe filled a cup of the fountain; the knight drank the water and was healed.
