Orcant

Lamer, Lamet, Lumet, Orcans, Orcaus

An ancestor of Lot and Gawain. He was king of Orkney, which was named after him, in the time of Joseph of Arimathea.

He was accused of murdering King Marahant of Irelandís son. Before King Lucius of Britain, he was successfully defended against this charge by Peter, a relative of Joseph of Arimathea who had stumbled into Orcantís kingdom. In admiration of Peter, Orcant converted to Christianity, taking the name Lumet (Lamet). Peter married Orcantís daughter, Camille.

It would appear that the name Orcant is derived from the Latin name for his realm, Orcades, and may simply be a title rather than a personal name.
