Guardian of the Fountain of Marvels on the Island of the Fountain.

He was killed by Tristan (Tristram). Pharant’s wife took Pharant’s body to Arthur’s court, demanding vengeance. Arthur personally challenged Tristan to combat, unaware of Tristan’s identity, and was defeated.
