Becleus

A castle that serves as the setting for a Sparrowhawk tournament in Renaut de Bâgé’s Le Bel Inconnu.

The castle’s lord, Girflet (Griflet), won the tournament through sheer power of arms even though his lady, Rose Espanie, was clearly unworthy of the sparrowhawk. Gawaine’s son Guinglain eventually defeated Girflet and won the contest.
