Phedon’s “friend” arranged for Phedon to find his fiancées maid, disguised as Phedon’s fiancée, in the embraces of another man. Thus deceived, Phedon killed his fiancée. When he learned the truth, Phedon killed his friend and went chasing after the evil maid. He was attacked in the forest by a madman named Furor, but was saved by Sir Guyon.
