Killare, Hilomar
The place, a mountain in Ireland, from where, according to Geoffrey, Merlin brought the Giant’s Dance, the stones of Stonehenge.
Giraldus Cambrensis, in his Topography of Ireland, identifies this mount with Kildare. In modern times T.C. Lethbridge in his Legend of the Sons of God (1972) has argued ably that Tipperary is intended. N. Tolstoy identifies it with Uisnech, the sacred centre of Ireland.
