Abasy

Abaahi, Abaahy, Abaasy, Abaaszi, Abacy, Abasi, Abassylar

In the realm of Sakha mythology, amidst the icy expanse of Siberia, lurk the dreaded abasy – malevolent demons that reign supreme in the depths of the underworld, known as the “kingdom of darkness.”

These grotesque creatures, shrouded in darknes and despair, embody the deepest fears of the Sakha people. The abasy are beings of monstrous proportions, their forms twisted and warped by the darkness that engulfs their domain. With a single eye, arm, and leg, they move with an eerie grace, their iron teeth gnashing with hunger for the souls of the living. Their blood, tainted with poison, courses through their veins like venomous river, leaving dustruction in its wake.

Riding upon dragons or steeds with two heads, eight legs, and two tails, the abasy instill terror wherever they rome. Their presence is heralded by chilling howls of the wind and the ominous rumble of thunder, as they descend upon the mortal realm like harbingers of doom. Ugly and monstrous, they are the stuff of nightmares, haunting the darkest recesses of the Sakha psyche.

But the abasy are not mere mindless beasts; they serve a darker master, the ruler of the dead in the Kingdom of Darkness – Arson-Duolai. This malevolent deity wields power over life and death, bestowing diseases upon the living and devouring the souls of the departed with insatiable hunger.

To appease the wrath of the abasy and their master, the Sakha people resort to blood sacrifices, offering up the lifeblood of animals in hopes of placating these fearsome entities. Yet, even in their darkest hour, the Sakha cling to hope, knowing that amidst the shadows, there exists a flicker of light – a glimmer of resilience that refuses to be extinguished.

In the frozen wastelands of Siberia, where the line between the living and the dead grows thin, the abasy reign supreme, a testament to the enduring power of myth and the depths of human imagination.
